Video Game Mania by Kull

We all play video games no matter how old we are, and at some point we have been a video game player. Whether you play X-box 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, or PC, it's an addiction that is sometimes hard to overcome.

But video games are a distraction. Kids would rather play Halo 3 or Call of Duty 4 then do their homework. Even some adults will forget about work to go online and tear up. Video games are a fun activity for when there is nothing to do. But if you have piles of homework or paperwork it is not something that you should be doing. Video game designers make video games to be addicting. Just like the tobacco companies. People are trying to break their addictions to cigarettes. Now it is being replaced with video games-- only it's now with the younger generation.

Should we try to break this addiction and get rid of video games or somehow limit the amount of time spent on them?

Blasphemy, woman! You've clearly never played Kingdom Hearts.

A good game is a book without the reading. As long as you take it as such, we have no problem.

You are right, l's army; I never have played the game--I hear it is equivalent to cat's pajamas.

I can say that I do enjoy playing the Wii...

Playing video games are just as time consuming as eating, sleeping, reading books or working out. it is just how any given person chooses to spend their time.

I think that people simply need to get their priorities in order. If video game playing is at the top of their list--so be it. If homework is one's priority, then they won't be playing video games. This is supposed to be a free country so if a person feels like playing video games all day they should be able to play video games all day.

Z .. our homework should be playing the video games.. but for real there should be time for games and time for work.. people should prioritize..

there's a time for work and a time for play.

video games are cool but like bama said there is a time to relax and a time to work, when people confuse the two then that is when they become a bad thing. ( my heart weeps for having typed that) lol

Wii s@cks... I always lose... But a good amount of other video games makes yous day a little more blue like the sky - the sky is nice

yes, work should definitley be a priority over video games. But to get rid of video games all together? Thats just silly talk right there. and so is comparing video games to cigarettes. No offense or anything, but ther is a big differance between the two. Cigarettes can be extremely hazardous to your health, no matter how many you smoke, whether it is 1 or 1000. The same can not be said for video games. You can play video games and still be healthy. Look at Dance Dance Revolution. People rave on how it has helped them lose weight. It all comes down to moderation and prioritizing. (Whew, that was a mouthful!)

Theres nothing wrong with video games but if they interfere with work and homework I guess you just need to prioritize.

i like video games i really don't think there should be a limit i just think people should have more control over themselfs. and if they want to waist ther time playing games all day instead of liveing their lifes that their own choice

NO WAYYY! Video games are amazing! If you play guitar hero, halo 3, or madden its understandable why you cant quit playing. But enough is enough already. your eyes need a rest sometime. so do your homework in between resting yours eys :)

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. So play video games all you want, if you have homework, play video games for a while and then do your homework. But if it takes you more than 3 hours to do your work then you shouldn't even be playing video games since you would be giving video gamers a bad name.

Hm lets see..Call of duty 4 or a useless book that is going to put me to sleep. I think i will burn the book and go play me some PS3 its tasty and your not.

The Ghost said...

alright now seriously the day someone trys to limit the amount of time i can play call of duty 4 is just ridiculous seriuosly check my grades if you think it distracts kids

the bandit said...

umm we all know that games are more important than homework and all your pointless lives

Well all I can say is that video games are the best thing in the world. Granted people need slight control over it but thats their own business. Me personally will play video games and not do my homework and I couldnt care because my grades are still honor/high honor roll quality. I think that video games make you smarter then books but thats just my opinion. If you want to test this theory then just play video games dont read books, dont do your homework. After you do all that try and beat me in both video games and have a better average then me I dare you. P.S. Call of Duty 4 is amazing someone get good at it and challenge me please. DARE YOU!!!!!!!

Vidoe games are cool and I don't thik they effect my school work and Idon't think there should be a time limit on how much time you spend playing them.People should be able to play as long as they want.

no because if people have a bunch of work they are old enough to know what to do first like work. it would be their own fault if it don't get done.

i love to play video games but it gets annoying when my bf is glued to call of duty 4 or halo 3 and doesn't listen when i talk or keeps telling me to hold on when were supposed to be leaving to go somewhere lol

GriffinDork said...

hmmm deffinately not. because video games are great! but if youre stupid enough to play them when you have crap to do then thats your own fault, i guess you could consider them an addiction or a lower form of one, because it's not like they have nicotine in them. play video games when you want, after your homework.

video games rule, but people who constantly play need to get their priorities straight. other than that, it's a way to escape the stresses of life.
