Sanatarium, you're a man/woman after my own heart. More than a hat, I'd like to wear a bandana to school. What's the problem with some modest headware anyway? It's "rude?" "Disrespectful to the flag", I've heard? The winters are cold, the building isn't heated enough, and you lose the most heat through your body.
Take your rudeness and your policies and slap your mother with them, Gowanda.
The reason for not wearing hats is dis repect for the flag right? Its the 20th century, I want to wear a hat because I want a hat. not for hat day or somthing just a hat. If they think its disrepcting this country well has anyone looked around people are always talking, saying "I hate this country" and "America sucks!" which is a another whole issue. But the hat wearing is the same as talking bad about the country right? every one dose it. so why can't we wear hats. -.- i think its a totaly stupid and old rule that holds no meaning anymore.
wearing hats...thats never really been a big issue, or at least not to me, i dont really care because i dont wear hats, but if people want to wear hats i think they should. like hoods, oh my god, thats stupid, it gets cold and we cant have our hoods up, how ridiculous. like whats the big deal, since when is a hood harmful.

Hmm i have never really thought about this one. MAybe if we were allowed to sport a het at school it would be a little bit more fashionable. i mean yea there are the boys who are pretty much used to wearing a hat almost everyday. but for the girls ther are some cute hats that would look cute on the right person that is. so maybe it would be a bit of a change. i personally wouldnt wear them but i dont see any harm in it at all.

Wearing a Hat to school is like swearing in a church. It is just one of those things that isn't done. Most people dont even wear hats in any public building, let alone a school. Sure, if they legalized it, I probably would wear one. Yet that will never happen, so there is no use complaining about it.
well i think were not aloud to wear hats because its a sign of respect.Its only reaspectable to not wear a hat in a public building.It would be like having bad manners at ur dates house when u first meet the parents.Its only right that u not wear it to show respect for others.
Well this topic in my opinion is just stupid. I could care less if wearing hats was disrespectful. If wearing hoods and hats in school is such a big deal then this country blows. Granted I dont wear hats alot but there are times when I would like to wear hats. I really like wearing hoods so yea let me wear my hoods.
we cannot wear hats because in the old school times it was disrespectful although nowadays the way the world has gone it seems as though everyone has forgotten respect even the adults are rude and disrespectful to us and one another thereby teaching us as students and pupils that respect is not needed in todays society so screw that if i'm not shown respect why should i show others any
I always thought we could wear hats because of the whole respect for the flag thing. But i never saw it as a big deal...i wish i could wear hats to school, because hats are cute, and i never buy them because what is the point when ur in school half the time and you cant wear them here anyways. so sad. i wish we could wear hats here at school!

i don't wear hats so its really not an issue for me but i don't see the problem with wearing hats or other head wear. i think that as long as its not a colorful wig or a funny gag hat then it wouldnt be distracting.
i think the reason we can't wear hats in school is because it is disrespectful. and if somebody is wearing a hat you have to take it off so the teachers and the principal can know who you are. if i could wear a hat in school i would just to piss people off.

It doesn't really matter i can see the whole respect thing but i do like to wear hats and hoods. And its a free country so why shouldn't we be able to wear hats or hoods in school?
I don't really wear hats o often so it isn't not such a big issue for me. I don't know why you aren't allowed to wear hats in school but you should be able to and I don't think they cause distractions.

I think we should be able to wear hats,hoods whatever. It shouldnt matter whats on our heads. The rules here su*k. I love wearing my hat and think we should be able to wear them. They all think it would be gang related but this is gowanda there is no gangs, if there are they arent very big our known.

I think it's because it's because the teachers don't want us to look like a bunch of gang members. who really knows. I personally don't wear hats but sometimes hoods. I would deff wear my hood up sometimes if we are ever ALLOWED to.
of course i would wear a hat like every day but i dont now why we cant wear hats its so dumb probly because they think there disraspectful or something its dumb though
i could probly care less that we can't wear hats. and i guess according to the school its a distraction. but even when its hat day i never really feel the need to wear one so i don't mind.

i dont see why you cant wear a hat - i wouldnt - but i think it would be entertaining to see some crazy hats running around here :D
I agree with BaerBaer. I honestly could care less too about wearing a hat to school. Also the school does have a charity wear you pay a dollar and wear a hat. I think its a nice charity idea and if you wanna wear a hat so bad then do it.
I don't think wearing hats is a really big issue at our school, maybe it is to some people i just don't really notice. But i could care less if other people want to wear a hat in school. Because i don't like wearing hats in general.
dude a hat is a hat. and I agree i want to wear a bandana in school. On the whole flag subject can anyone tell me that they are one hundred percent afraid of being disrespectful to a peice of friggin cloth? When the pledge is said in the morning look around and see just how many people are sayin it. You won't hear me I can tell you that. I love this country but I hate the way that this country is run. I'm 18 a legal adult and they tell me that I don't have the right to speak my mind to other adults. WTF is up with that? "Let's just make sure everyone is happy while we slowly start stealing thier freedom" god wake up here people!!!!!!!
I believe that hats are really disrespectful. I think that if you want t wear a hat that there is a time and a place for it. not school... and i don'; like hats so i wouldn't waer one if i was allowed to
