Lil' Bit 'o Choice

This is what we need to cover during the rest of the year:

1. Novel (Slaughterhouse Five or One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest)
2. Poetry
3. Creative Writing Unit
4. Senior Scrapbook (your Final)
5. Short Stories

We have five (5) months. (That makes me incredibly sad to write...)

We are lucky enough to pretty flexible with units. Is there anything you want to do? Anything you want to read? Any kinds of projects you would like to complete? Speak now or forever hold your peace.

(...I really am teary-eyed now!...)

I do not want to do any poetry but writing short stories and reading books would be ok.

I wanna write some short stores for creative writing, that would be cool. Oh wait...Thats a unit in itself, even better.
I don't want to do any poetry because it is lame. Really.

I agree, poetry usually doesn't end well.

I would like to read Slaughterhouse five. i think our class would like it. It's so good.

I have heard some pretty good comments about Slaughterhouse Five. I think we should read this novel and just cut out the poetry.

Creative writing is always fun... well, almost.
But I hate poetry...
Well, the books sound interesting though and the scrapbook too.

I do not think that we should do a poetry unit, but I think that everything else seems awesome!!

i'd prefer more writing i guess.
about actually interesting topics.

not how such and such book has affected society or how it views women. its all really mundane and annoying.

creative stories.
creative writing would work haha.

i say less worksheets.

I have started to read Slaughter-House Five, but i didn't get a chance to finish it. Short stories are always fun. We should read a Clockwork Orange or Catch-22. Both of those stories are amazing (so i have been told since i have never finished either one of them) and All Quiet on the Western Front is an amazing, classical piece of literature.

Dear Geist,
I still believe we should do some sort of project relating to our favorite song, movie, or novel. A choice project.:)

slaughterhouse five all the way. i mean it says slaughter right in the title. Its gotta be a good book. and we already did poetry this year so why do we have to do it again. We should go on a field trip or something. And have class outside when it gets warmer.

oh the dearest geisty-pooo i am very disappointed that the novel one flew over the cuckoo's nest was not apart of our list of what we got to choose to read... actually i believe that i had to read that novel for JCC english for the summer reading... (well when i was in that class and i decided to ditch it for ur amazing class) in my opinion i guess it was an alright novel... i actually felt like a huge nerd when my english teacher asked if ne of us had actually read it and i regrettably raise my hand... then the teacher made me give a brief summary and i wanted to punch myself in the face but oh well... so how is the life of teaching with out ur favorite students? let me tell u i def miss having you as a teacher i hate half of them that i have now...
